Cuba's Lizt Alfonso Ballet Company performed in this city to mark the
60 anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Canada and the
Island, as part of a tour of over 20 Canadian cities.<br />
The hopelessness of the thousands of people in Haiti who are taking
shelter in the Champ de Mars plaza was surprised by a rain of happiness
from Cuba, caused by clowns, magicians, musicians and other artists.
Abel Prieto Jiménez, minister for Culture, stated in Guantánamo that
one of the main challenges of the nation is to preserve and transmit
the love for traditions from one generation to the next one.
Warmly welcomed by the audience everywhere it has performed, Cuba’s
Lizt Alfonso Ballet Company is presenting its pieces Elementos, Fuerza
y Compás and Tablao, in a tour of over 20 Canadian cities.
