Cuban National Ballet to Perform for International Women's Day in Havana

The BNC, under the direction of Alicia Alonso, will present a varied program featuring Las Sílfides with dancers Anette Delgado, Ernesto Álvarez, Yanela Piñera, Sadaise Arencibia, Mercedes Piedra and Amanda Fuentes; Un concierto en blanco y negro with dancers Marlén Fuerte, Elizabeth Sosa, Marizé Fumero, Mayrel Martínez, Camilo Ramos, Dani Hernández and Jaciel Gómez); Diana y Acteón with dancers Viengsay Valdés and Elier Bourzac; and Acentos with dancers Yonah Acosta, Yanier Gómez,
Camilo Ramos, Alejandro Silva and Edward González.
The show will be the BNC’s first presentation in Cuba after their successful tour of Merida, Mexico where Alicia Alonso was granted the Golden Medal by the mayor of Merida, César Bojórquez Zapata.
More than 20,000 people came out to see the staging of Don Quijote in the Cathedral Plaza in downtown Mérida that featured Cuban dancers Viengsay Valdés and Elier Bourzac, and Anette Delgado and Javier Torres.
