Cuban Ranchers Must Learn about Pastures, says Agriculture Executive

<p style="text-align: justify;">HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 4 (acn) Juan Francisco Ramírez, director of the Pasture and Forage Research Institute (IPF) in Villa Clara province,said Cuban ranchers must understand that growing quality pasture is needed to improve the raising of cattle. "The little use they give to the seed farms we have in this province (six) where we grow over 700 varieties of grass and leguminous plants, show their lack of knowledge about this" he told ACN news agency. Tourism Fair a Success, Say Cuban Authorities

<p style="text-align: justify;">Cuban authorities described as successful the results of the recently concluded International Tourism Fair FITCuba 2011, mainly in the fields of business and destination potentials.According to official figures released in a communiqué of the Tourism Ministry, at least 1,500 people from 45 countries visited the venue of the fair at the Morro-Cabana historic-military park.The event, held on May 2-7, was dedicated to Havana as a destination, to Mexico as Guest of Honor and to the multi-destination form of travel.The official delegation of Mexico was led by Tourism Minister Gloria Guevara. Cuban painter to hold an exhibition in Berlin

The young painter from Trinidad, in the Cuban province of Sancti Spíritus, Yudit Vidal Faife, is currently holding one of her paintings exhibited in the Magnificat Art Gallery, in Berlin, as part of the Art and Prison project, where another one of her pieces will be auctioned for the benefit of the prisons.Yudit is also involved with two paintings in the DIN A4 Project, by the Dutch artist Ernst Kraft, who is holding an itinerant exhibition of pieces in a A4 format aiming to join several artistic tendencies that he is showing around different cities in the world. Cuban Handicapped Athlete Sets World Record in Ball Control

USA denies its Fishermen Attendance at Tournament in Cuba

Havana, Cuba.- Some 20 yachts of US fishermen will not participate in the 61st Ernest Hemingway International Marlin Fishing Tournament, because they were denied license to set sail for Cuba by their government. In a press conference held on Friday at the capital’s Hemingway Marina, Jose Miguel Diaz, Commodore of the Hemingway International Nautical Club, pointed out that the current US administration also limited the participation of 19 fishing amateurs. Diaz said that in spite of restrictions, the United States will be the most represented country at this new edition of the event, with five teams in competition. Read More
