Seoul, Jun18 (Prensa Latina) Cuba trounced South Korea today and moved up to second place in Pool D of the men''s Volleyball World League, with a total of four wins and three losses, while South Korea had 3-4.

The Cubans played sets of 25-20, 25-22 and 25-20 in the city of Gwangju, and the win gave Cuba three more points to improve its score to 12 points, two points ahead their rivals.

This was the second time that Cuba beat South Korea, and both teams will play again on Sunday.

Italy leads the pool with 6-1 and 16 points after losing to France on Friday, a first win for France.

In Pool A, Brazil was leading with 5-1, followed by Poland (4-3), the USA (4-3) and Puerto Rico 0-5.

Puerto Rico plays Brazil today.

Russia leads Pool B with 6-0, a single lost set, and a comfortable lead over Bulgaria (3-3), Germany (2-4) and Japan (1-5).

Russia will play Japan and Bulgaria will play Germany today.

In Pool C. Argentina was in command (5-1), followed by Serbia (4-3), Portugal (3-3) and Finland (1-6).

Argentina will play Portugal today, while Finland will play Serbia.
