Cuba: Marathon swimmer Nyad eyes new Florida swim

<p style="text-align: justify;">HAVANA (AP) — Cuban authorities said Thursday that American Diana Nyad plans another shot at swimming from Cuba to Key West after falling short of her goal last month. An email from Cuban press officials invited journalists to an encounter with the swimmer Friday at a marina in Havana. "Diana Nyad will offer a news conference before once again beginning to swim across the Florida Straits between Havana and Key West, in continuation of the attempt realized on Aug. 7," the invitation read. TACA adds Havana flights

<p style="text-align: justify;">El Salvador-based TACA Airlines started a three-flights-a-week connection between San Salvador and Havana. TACA, a subsidiary of the Avianca-TACA Ltd. holding, is using A-319 aircraft on the route. The announcement is the direct outcome of a partial-reach trade agreement Cuba signed with El Salvador. he Central American country is one of the last in the hemisphere to establish full relations with Cuba.
