Hugo Chavez Wants to Rule Venezuela Until 2031

Among other things, Hugo Chávez cited "reasons of love" in declaring his intent to seek a third six-year term as Venezuela's president over the weekend. The 56-year-old socialist leader told the press that last month's surgery in Cuba to remove a baseball-sized tumor had been tremendously successful and while he said there were still some risks, he was cancer-free and ready to renew his commitment to Venezuela. Cuban Film Afinidades to Roman Festival

<p style="text-align: justify;">Afinidades (Affinities), co-directed by Jorge Perugorria and Vladimir Cruz, the two actors of the film Strawberry and Chocolate (1994), will participate in the 2nd Festival of Iberian American Cinema, to be held in Rome from October 4th through the 9th. The first work, premiered on February 3, 2011, was shot at the Guama tourist center of the Laguna del Tesoro, in Cienaga de Zapata, Matanzas province. The plot unfolds during a weekend in which two couples carry out a kind of emotional journey and go beyond certain limits and know the price they have to pay for doing so. Read More

Chavez sings, optimistic after 1st week of chemo

CARACAS, Venezuela -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez sang and recited a poem in honor of independence hero Simon Bolivar on Sunday, appearing upbeat and energetic after his first week of chemotherapy in Cuba. Chavez said in a televised speech that he is optimistic he will survive cancer, but added that risks remain and that he is under strict orders from his doctors to limit his agenda.
