Havana Hosts Film Festival About Genre and Environment

<p style="text-align: justify;">HAVANA, Cuba, Sept 21 (acn) The Third Humberto Solas Low-Budget Cinema Theme Festival will be about genre and environment and it will take place in Havana from October 13-16. For the first time the festival will be held outside its traditional venue of the southern city of Cienfuegos. Cuba: Studies on Scorpion Venom in International Event

<p style="text-align: justify;">Cuban researchers will present experiences on the extraction and management of scorpion venom in the 2010 Labiofam International Congress and the Symposium of Natural Products in Cancer Therapy, expected in late September. Miguel Betancourt, a specialist of the Bio-Pharmaceutical Laboratories (LABIOFAM) from Ciego de Avila, told Prensa Latina they have spent several years investigating the properties of scorpion venom as a therapy against cancer.
