Tampa International Airport to host Cuba Travel Forum

Tampa International Airport will host a Cuba Travel Forum at 6 p.m., Sept. 6 at the Cuban Club in Ybor City to celebrate the reconnection of Tampa and Havana with charter flights. The event will link the three approved carriers and 12 travel service providers with those interested in visiting Cuba under current U.S. travel restrictions.Xael Charters, Inc. of Miami has scheduled its inaugural Sept. 8; ABC Charters, Inc. of Miami will begin Sept. 10, and Island Travel and &amp; Tours Ltd., a San Diego firm with plans to establish a local base here, has said it expects to start service in September. Advocacy group publishes people-to-people travel list

<p style="text-align: justify;">Responding to rising insecurity about the legality of people-to-people travel to Cuba, an anti-travel ban advocacy group in Washington published a guide for would-be travelers from the United States. The Latin America Working Group’s how-to guide lists all U.S. travel service and charter providers to Cuba, as well as the programs they offer this and next year, under the religious, educational and people-to-people categories. Cuba Gets 100 Tons Of Aid From U.S. NGO

<p style="text-align: justify;">HAVANA, Aug 24 (Bernama) -- The U.S.-Cuba Friendship Caravan organised by the U.S. non-governmental group Pastors for Peace delivered over 100 tons of humanitarian aid to Cuba on Tuesday, reports China's news agency Xinhua. The shipment, following the group's July 22 visit, contained computers, bicycles, medical equipment, wheelchairs, crutches, toiletries and school supplies, authorities said. Read More

Female dog feeds Five Piglets

CAMAGUEY, CUBA.-&nbsp; To the amazement of her owners and neighbors, a mixed-breed female dog called Yeti breastfeeds five piglets who prefer her milk over that of their mother and chase her all over the backyard of the house where they are kept in the outskirts of the city of Camaguey. Mannorkys Santamaria, owner of the animals and operator of the Water Resources Enterprise, told ACN that the newborn pigs don’t need to breastfeed from the dog because their biological mother has a lot of milk. Cuba: Police Recovered Victor Manuel's Painting

Havana, Aug 23 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Police have recovered a valuable painting by prestigious artist Victor Manuel García that had been stolen a month ago in the island's central province of Santa Clara, and the thieves were captured, reported the local press. The work "Cuban Landscape" was damaged during the robbery in the Provincial Center of Cultural Heritage of the city of Santa Clara. Cuba assumes presidency of UN Disarmament Conference

Marazul offers medical fact-finding tours

<p style="text-align: justify;">Miami-based Marazul Charters, a licensed Cuba travel service provider, partnered with non-profit MEDICC to offer research tours for U.S. health professionals. MEDICC, an organization based in suburban Atlanta that fosters medical cooperation between Cuba and the United States, said it joined as a program consultant with Marazul, to develop specialized research programs for American healthcare professionals about Cuban health care.
