Cuba, Saint Lucia agree to boost relations

<p style="text-align: justify;">08:34, May 24, 2011.Cuba and Saint Lucia on Monday boosted bilateral relations with the visit of Saint Lucia's Social Transformation, Public Services, Human Resources Development, Youth and Sports Minister Lenard Spider Montoute. Spider arrived on the international Jose Marti Airport of Havana where he was welcomed by Roberto Leon, Cuba's deputy president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation. Visitor number rising at two-digit rates

<p style="text-align: justify;">The number of visitors to Cuba rose a hefty 11.9 percent during the first four months of the year, according to official statistics. Nearly 1,180,000 people traveled to the island from January through April, the Oficina Nacional de Estadísticas (ONE) reported, making for a 11.9-percent increase compared to the same period last year. Norfolk Tide (and Major League Baseball) fans will want to take notice -- very, very short notice -- that Louisville has announced that relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman is pitching tonight against Norfolk. Chapman, from Cuba, made waves this year with a fastball that registered 106 mph hour on a stadium radar gun, as well as registering a then-record 105 mph last year. Chapman has been given time off because of velocity problems this season. He was only in the low-90s for a time. All pitchers should have such problems. Read More
