The Fifth Cuban Congress on Education and Sexual Therapy starts this Monday at the Havana's Conference Center, with the development of courses and satellite meetings, prior to a full working program.

The official opening ceremony will be on Tuesday, with a master lecture entitled "Sexual education as a State policy," in charge of Mariela Castro Espin, president of the event.

The congress' scientific agenda includes lectures and workshops about sexuality, education and human development, sexual and reproductive health, quality of life and clinic sexology, among other issues.

Also on the list is the delivery for a first time of the Award for Sustained Social Service, giving the Cuban Multidisciplinary Society for the Study of Sexuality, to experts of renowned experience in this issue.

In the presentation of the important meeting, Castro Espin stated how the Cuban program of sexual education has been supported politically, despite there are still some prejudices and contradictions.
