The British Peter Nadin, famous visual artist, placed one of his ceramic towers in the Matanzas art gallery, together with the opening of the exhibition by Héctor Correa.

Nadin, who lives in New York, United States and is a friend of Cuba, aims to leave a dozen of his famous ceramic towers in our country, a project which he started in the last Havana biennale and continued in Gibara, Holguín province, to the east of the country.

The artist also placed another tower in the farm house Guasimal del Toro, in the municipality of Jovellanos in Matanzas, in a cane plantation, to show his passion for the environment and the need for men to protect nature for survival.

The Colón gallery, about 180 kilometres to the east of Havana, was in a luxury night with the exhibition, which consisted in clay objects made with master skills and originality by Correo, Odalys Marrero and many guests’ artists such as the well known Javier Dueñas and Wiliam Hernández.

Roberto Capote, director of the cultural institution, thanked the English-American artist the good will and solidarity for leaving such a good taste monument for history, which aims to love and take care of the environment.

Nadin reaffirmed once again his love for the Caribbean Island and its welcoming people and promised to come back to extend its ceramic towers through other parts of the Cuban geography.

This creator has been a professor in the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, from New York for two years.
His work is being exhibited in museums and private collections from America and Europe and it includes several books published, very closely related to art and nature.
