Cuban painter Angel Silvestre opened his most recent personal exhibition titled "From Havana to Nassau" at the Cuban embassy in this capital.

The sample of 22 of his paintings was opened to the public Wednesday in the presence of Bahamas Minister of Culture, Charles Maynard and Cuban ambassador Jose Luis Ponce, who extolled the importance of the event for the strengthening of relations between both peoples.

They also considered necessary to widen cultural contacts between both nations.

Silvestre, who exhibits for the first time in Bahamas, illustrates the similarities between both countries through sensuous expressions, religious rituals and images of their women.

The artist has presented 30 personal exhibits and has participated in 20 collective exhibitions in Argentina, New York and Italy.
