Speaking at the 2nd International Symposium on Cardiology that takes place in the eastern city of Holguin, Dhallas said that this meeting is particularly important to promote ongoing researches in vascular cardiology.

According to Granma news daily, the expert added that it also allows young Cuban researchers to have access to state-of-the-art technologies.

In addition, Dhallas highly commended the work of Cuban Dr. Delfin Rodriguez Leyva, a cardiologist and researcher in Holguin, who has been participating since September 2007 in clinical trials of a type of Omega- 3 full fat acid.

During Wednesday’s session of the event, Canadian specialists Bruce McManus, Janet Wilson, Alan Menkis, Rohit Singal and Bram Ramjiawan also spoke about the commercialization of biomedical technologies, new medicines, and the process of research and the personalization of the patients care.

The 2nd International Symposium on Cardiology is sponsored by the Cuban Society of Cardiology, the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences of Canada and the Vladimir Ilich Lenin Hospital in Holguin.
