Cuban Vice President Carlos Lage visited a modern new ophthalmic center in in Villa Clara, Cuba

The center, equipped with state of the art technology, will offer all ophthalmologic services. It is located in the renovated facilities of the Arnaldo Milián Castro Hospital.
Lage praised the renovation project at the Zapaticos de Rosa Daycare Center in the district of Virginia, which has a capacity to receive 200 children. He also lauded the construction of 11 houses that were given to victims of Tropical Storm Fay in the neighborhood of Falcón in the Placetas municipality.
The Cuban vice president spoke about the importance of maintaining the quality of services and upkeep of the new facilities. He also toured a community in construction that when completed will have 132 houses in the Planta Gas area.
Officials also briefed Lage on the state of the water supply system in Santa Clara. Theys informed him that in the most critical areas water delivery has improved from one a month to once every four days, and that the post-hurricane recovery process is ongoing.
