The Venezuelan Head of State said he was pleased with the results of his intense trip, during which he signed agreements of special meaning for his country, particularly in the economic field. The two and a half hour meeting with Fidel and Raul once again revealed the strong and growing relations in several fields between Cuba and Venezuela; such links are an example of solidarity relations between the two countries, reads an article on Cubadebate website, which was published by the Cuban press on Sunday.
Fidel Castro extended Hugo Chavez the gratefulness of all Cubans for the significant and rapid assistance offered by Venezuela after the passage of hurricanes Gustav and Ike and he ratified the concepts he stated in his reflection titled: The Democratic Socialism.
Hugo Chavez appreciated the views and criteria in the article and said that Venezuela assumes, with deep love and as a basic duty, its contribution to palliate the damage inflicted by the storms.
