Cuba’s leading dancer Joel Carreño emphasized the joint effort with Venezuelan counterparts

Carreño will be competing along with his fellow countryman Javier Torres and the Venezuelan Cristina Gallardo and Cristina Amaral the leading roles in the play Giselle, choreographed by the director of the National Ballet of Cuba, Alicia Alonso.
Performances, conceived as part of the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the Teresa Carreño Theater of this capital, will take place in the Ríos Reyna hall in that facility next August 2, 3, 9 and 10.
I hope the Venezuelan public enjoys Giselle just as much as we do while dancing it, declared Carreño, who has had very successful performances in the main stages around the world.
He stressed the excellent rapport and identification with the Venezuelan ballerinas and described as pleasant and educational for both parts the performances their time together.
We have got along well together from the very beginning, the dancer pointed out after recalling that in last December he participated with the Teresa Carreño Company in the staging of The Nutcracker.
He declared that the Cuban public will have the opportunity to enjoy the performance of Venezuelan artists during the International Ballet Festival expected to be celebrated in Havana from next November 28 to 6.
