Latin American Movie Festival make its debut in Saint Petersburg
With Latin Fiesta, Russian spectators get close to the work of famous directors from Argentine, Brazil, Bolivia, Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Uruguay, Chile and Ecuador, highlighted Liudmila Lipeiko, one of the promoters of the event.

For the first time, movie lovers from the northern capital are able to enjoy movies and documentaries that have been awarded in European, Latin American Festivals as well as in the United States, pointed out the director of the Orilla center (Bereg).

Lipeiko recognized that as Latin American writers conquered readers all over the world 20 or 30 years ago, pieces from creators from that continent are found in top positions in famous international festivals.

Experts agree that this first encounter with Latin American cinema is the best cultural pretext to open new movie forms and the singularity of Latin American cultures to the Russian public.

The selected sample of more than ten movies is made up by Precipicio (Precipice) by director Teresa Suarez; Suite Habana (Cuba, 2003), by Fernando Perez; Maria, Llena eres de Gracia (Maria, full of Grace) (EE.UU-Colombia, 2004); and American Visa (México-Bolivia) among others.

According to the program, every day the Cinema House from Saint Peterburg vibrate with the music of the county to which the exhibition has been dedicated through the big screen.
