The Cuban first vice president exhorted Europe to provide concrete initiatives to mitigate hardships Third World countries currently suffer.

According to him, the EU must adopt an active position, to solve those scourges gripping humanity, particularly on third-world countries.

As to Cuba's expectations for the Fifth LAC-EU Summit, Machado highlighted the strengthening of the Latin American and Caribbean positions compared to previous meetings.
