Anti-Flu Vaccine for Cuban Elderly
According to experts, the campaign is aimed at reducing the incidence of that disease in wintertime.

Common cold, caused by the influenza viruses, which differ from season to season, is the most common disease in Cuba, but it can cause pneumonia, especially in patients over 60 years of age, according to experts.

Since 1999, Cuban health authorities have carried out vaccination campaigns against flu, the latest of which began on December 18, 2007.

The ongoing campaign will benefit residents in the provinces of City of Havana, Havana, Villa Clara and Camagüey, and the special municipality Isla de la Juventud, and all Cubans over 70 years of age.

It will also benefit patients suffering from cystic fibrosis, chronic kidney failure and HIV/AIDS, as well as workers in poultry farms.
