Launched website about international cuban medical cooperation
Aiming at making the world learn about, be informed and up to date about Cuba's international medical cooperation activities, a new World Wide Web site named Cuba-Coopera was inaugurated recently in the Cuban capital.

Rolando Gomez , Director of Cooperation of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Relations, highlighted that the site is visible at the electronic address www.cubacoop.com of the Internet.

At that URL persons surfing the Web can learn about the work done by Cuban specialists in different countries.

News, relevant facts, the main forms of cooperation, as well as the present state of the Integrated Health Program ( known in Spanish by the acronym PIS from Programa Integral de Salud ) that is already present in 36 nations of the world and the training of human resources can be seen at the site.

The results of Operation Miracle are also shown, and information about the Centers for Integrated Diagnostics are presented together with the most relevant speeches by President Fidel Castro during activities related to health care, as was the case of the creation of the Henry Reeve International Medical Brigade.

A photo gallery and data about the illiteracy eradication programs, like the YES I CAN system, created by Cuban educational experts, and links to the Latin American School of Medicine are also available.

Gomez highlighted that more than thirty thousand foreign students from 126 nations of Latin America, Asia and Oceania, as well as four external territories, are presently training in Cuba .
