Cuba currently has over 12,000 integral therapists in the health sector, chiefly trained in new health programs of the Revolution.

The chief of the National Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine Program, Jorge Enrique Martin, told press that specialized staff has allowed the country to expand primary health care services to communities.

According to Martin, over one million and a half Cubans were assisted in integral rehabilitation facilities in 2005, who received the benefits of the leading-edge technology which was even taken to mountainous regions.

Those services include physical therapy with electrotherapy areas, gym, thermotherapy, hydrotherapy, occupational therapy, nutritional advising, and natural and traditional medicine.
