Cuba says Fidel OK, Guantanamo not
National Assembly President Ricardo Alarcon told CNN that Fidel Castro s health is on the mend but the situation of human rights in the US prison at Guantanamo bay, Cuba, is seriously ill.

He said this country has been victim of subversive plans for a long time, but has upheld human rights, as witnessed by a recent Spanish governmental delegation to Cuban prisons with nothing to hide.

"We re sick of the human rights issue being used to justify the US blockade against us, when the real violations are inside that base," he said.

He reminded that the Americas most notorious terrorist with a rap sheet of bombings and murder all over the Americas, Luis Posada Carriles is currently free and protected by the US government, for which he worked as an agent of the CIA.

The top Cuban legislator said Fidel is making very satisfactory progress after serious intestinal surgery last year, and is writing many articles, reading profusely and following doctors orders to guarantee a full recovery.
