The Cuban government has announced its donation to Honduras of four centers for ophthalmological attention, with the goal of providing specialized care to population groups that lack access to this service.

An agreement on this donation was signed on Thursday, November 23 by Health Minister Yeny Meza and Ambassador Elías Alberto Polanco González.

According to the agreement, the clinics will be located in Tegucigalpa, in El Progreso "departament of Yoro", Juticalpa "in Olancho" and San Marcos de Ocotepeque.

Since Hurricane Mitch hit Honduras in 1998, Cuba has maintained a brigade of 150 doctors in the country, and they provide their services in remote, rugged areas.
