Caribbean Medical Association (AMECA)

Cuba counts on sanitary conditions to consolidate a tourism with peace, good health and security, it was said in the 13th Congress of the Caribbean Medical Association (AMECA) to be concluded in this capital.

The central topic of the meeting is the health of tourists, in which Maria Elena Lopez, an official from the Cuban Tourism Ministry, said the will of the Cuban government's will is to guarantee the health of visitors.

To get this objective, one of the economic sectors with a greater growth in the 21st Century is tourism, working together with the rest of the central administration's organizations.

In this 12th edition, this was in session for three days, with the participation of representatives from Mexico, Guyana and Egypt, among other countries.

The Cuban experience of the 120 years of age was presented, and Doctor Eugenio Selman, AMECA president, said that Cuba is a country with conditions for its inhabitants to live 120 years.

A study made on people living with AIDS in the province of Guantanamo was another topic discussed.

The program this Saturday included a conference on obesity and bariatric surgery, and sepsis with Mellitas diabetes.
