Cuba chairs Regional Anesthesiology Organization

The 7th Central American and Caribbean Congress on Anesthesiology, closing Sunday in Santo Domingo, unanimously elected Cuba as the president of that regional body until 2008.
According to Alberto Martinez, general secretary of the Cuban Anesthesiology Society, Havana will host the eighth regional congress in two years.
The Santo Domingo event, gathered over 500 experts from 17 of the 21 member nations of the regional organization.
At its opening session, Cuban Doctor of Science Cordero was named Honor Member of the Dominican Anesthesiology Society.
The scientific meeting looked at brain surgery, traumatism, cardiovascular surgery, pharmacology and issues dealing with labor security and risks, among others.
