Chile, Cuba to sign film accord

The Film Co-production Agreement signed between Chile and Cuba, during the 28th New Latin American Film Festival in Havana, one of the most important such events in the region, will enhance cooperation in this field.
Chilean Foreign Ministry Cultural Director Emilio Lamarca said in a release Tuesday that the accord will help expand the industry in both countries and open doors to Third World productions.
Lamarca signed the accord for Chile and Cuba was represented by Omar Gonzalez, president of the Cuban Institute of Art and Cinematography (ICAIC), and follows three years of joint work so that the prerogatives of national productions will be shared.
