Cuba’s Acting Foreign Minister (FM) Marcelino Medina held in this capital several meetings with members of the House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress.
Medina met on Tuesday with Republican representative Erik Paulsen, of Minnesota, and Democrat Mark Takano, of California, the Cuban Foreign Ministry’s Web site reported.
Likewise, he received on Tuesday two federal congresspersons for the state of Illinois, Democrat Cheri Bustos and Republican Rodney Davis.
During the talks, topics of interest were tackled by the U.S. visitors with regard to the process of updating of the island’s economic model, Cuban foreign policy, and the current state of relations between the two nations.
The two parties spoke about the debate at the U.S. Congress on the policy of that country towards Cuba and the lifting of the embargo.
