At least 20 Cuban health professionals claiming US visa in Bogotá were notified between Friday and Monday they had achieved protection of the Cuban Medical Professional Parole (CMPP), according to El Nuevo Herald.
Dr. Julio Cesar Alfonso, president of Solidarity without Borders, an organization based in Hialeah, which recently launched a campaign to raise funds for the doctors who are in an immigration limbo in Colombia, says that this Monday 11 Cuban doctors were reported that they would benefit from the program. Another nine were notified on Friday.
"I'm very happy that the delivery of visas is back after the Herald articles and all efforts are doing our congressmen," Alfonso told El Nuevo Herald.
"We will be watching what happens and will continue sending aid to colleagues in Bogota."
