William Soler Pediatric Cardiology Center has benefited more than two thousand 500 children, including newborns and young infants by interventional cardiology, which applies from 1988 with results comparable to other centers worldwide.
Dr. Juan Carlos Ramiro Novoa, head of hemodynamics of the institution, recalled that initially there was a predominance of cardiac catheterization for diagnostic purposes, and now leans toward interventionism.
This relationship behaves like other premier centers in the world, with very high security procedures, low rate of lethal and nonlethal complications and every day more heart diseases are treated by interventional catheterization as first choice, Cuban scientist said.
