Rob Manfred, MLB commissioner, said on Tuesday in the clubhouse of the Boston Red Sox that he estimates that "the normalization of relations with Cuba represents a great opportunity for baseball."
"I think this would be a very positive move for us. For example: if regulations change in a way t hat it would allow Cuban players to come and play directly in USA or return to the island if that is what they choose to do," he said.
"I also think that if there is additional flexibility with regard to economic matters, this would provide opportunities for us to operate in the Cuban market. Cuba is a market where baseball is embedded in culture and those are the markets where we operate very well”, Manfred added.
