The US soccer team Cosmos will play with the Cuban national squad in a match that would be the first between sports sides of the two countries since the restoration of relations was announced.
It will be the first sports live broadcast since the United States defeated Cuba 1-0 in Havana in the semifinal round of the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF), in September 2008.
ESPN will cover the event and will be hosted by the commentator Richard Mendez, who will share his analysis of the match with Manu Martin.
In addition, the Mexican journalist Jacobo Zabludovsky, who also visited Cuba 56 years ago to interview Fidel Castro before his entry to Havana after the triumph of the Cuban revolution, will travel to Havana to cover the match.
