Marcelino Medina, Cuba’s First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs predicted on Monday that the process of full normalization between his country and the United States will take "a long time".
Medina explained that the current negotiations with the administration of Barack Obama are just a first step and are concentrated in the restoration of diplomatic relations and the possibility of opening embassies in the capitals of both countries.
“The more important issues (...) will take time, a very long time; it is expected to be a long, lasting process on the long road to normalization of relations", he said.
