The Cuban Public Health Minister, Roberto Morales, urged to step up measures to control dissimilar diseases that can affect the island today, when addressing, during the last session this year of the Cuban Parliament, the hygienic-epidemiological situation in the country.

Morales told the National Assembly of the People's Power the importance of sanitation and vector control to face the risks the entail the geography and the Cuban weather, as well as the emerging diseases worldwide, hightlighted the national media this weekend.

Among the risks and nowadays difficulties he mentioned the deterioration of health networks and water supply, bad quality of that liquid in some regions and weak health control measures.

Also, he alerted on the low perception of the risks by the Cuban population

During the VIII Legislature, the National Assembly of the People's Power passed the Budget Law for 2014, which allocates 54 percent of the resources to social services, particularly education and health.
