Ivory, marble and copper ballerinas sculpted by Cuban Project Fidias captivate collectors from Brazil and the United States, main markets of the works, announced today promoters of that artistic initiative.

The pieces characterize the creative group from Pinar del Rio, the only one in Cuba that makes statues with these characteristics, Pedro Luaces, head of the group, told Prensa Latina.

Founded over a decade ago, Fidias was named after Greek master with the same name, considered to be one of the most famous artists of the classic world and whose more relevant works were created to be part of the Parthenon.

In the present, the project is comprised of more than one hundred people including builders, foundry workers, ceramists and sculptors.
