Cuban Media Lament Death of cuban painter Vicente Rodriguez Bonachea

Cuban media on Saturday lamented the death of painter and illustrator Juan Vicente Rodriguez Bonachea, one of the most prominent contemporary artists of the island, who died at the age of 55.
In a note published at the cultural section in Granma daily, critic Virginia Alberdi described him as "the architect of a poetic imagery that resulted in an amazing original fauna." In his work, she said, we can recognize a refined craft of painting and a well-ballanced chromaticism.
According to the specialist, Bonachea managed, with his prodigious imagination, to shape a unique representation, populated by mythical creatures and showed command on oneiric inventions with the iron trade of compositional balance.
Television and radio also echoed the news that has shocked the Cuban intelligentsia.
The National Council of Plastic Arts sent his condolences to the families and friends of the artist in a statement that highlighted his outstanding career.
Bonachea died Friday, several days after suffering a stroke. His body will be buried on Saturday in the Colon Cemetery in Havana.
