Carlos Santos, president of the Society for Neuroscience in Cuba, said the island stands out worldwide in the development achieved in this area, despite the lack of material.
In passing the inaugural conference of the First Day of Neuroscience Provincial in Sancti Spiritus, the specialist said that Cuban medical teams, related to this industry, are used in several countries, even industrialized, for efficiency and quality.
He noted that disciplinary action is achieved with the participation of neurologists, neurosurgeons, psychiatrists and other professionals involved in public health, including computer scientists and mathematicians for adequate patient care.
As part of the event, which ends this March 31, will be the chapter Spiritus of the Cuban Society for Neuroscience, a group that already exists in the provinces of Pinar del Rio, Cienfuegos, Holguin, Guantanamo, Santiago de Cuba and Ciego de Avila.
The program includes lectures, panel discussions, presentations of interesting cases, brief communications and electronic posters.
The Cuban Society for Neuroscience was established in 1987, consisting then of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba.
Currently includes more than 400 professionals from across the country.
