HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 3 (acn) The director of the Cuban Center for the Rehabilitation of the Blind, Professor Jose Raul Baquet, participated in a meeting of specialists of the Latin American Association of the Blind (ULAC) recently held in Bolivia.

Baquet told ACN that 31 experts from a similar number of regional institutions attended the event and shared their experience in the social integration of blind people.

He added that a comprehensive model designed in Spain to provide rehabilitation services was presented during the meeting as well as a technical manual prepared by Latin American professors.

He praised the efforts of the Cuban State and the National Association of the Blind in favor of the integration into the society of the visually impaired and to guarantee education, employment and access to culture and sports for them.
