An exhibition that covers the tribute by Cuban plastic art artists to prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso will open on Wednesday at the Magnan Metz Gallery in Chelsea, New York.

The exhibition is organized by the Cuban museums of Fine Arts and National Dance and is sponsored by the Cuban Artists Fund (CAF).

It includes 30 works of relevant painters as Wifredo Lam, Carlos Enríquez, René Portocarrero, Mariano Rodríguez, Manuel Mendive, Tomás Sánchez, Nelson Domínguez, Alicia Leal and Rocío García, all of them representatives of different styles and trends.

The CAF goal is to put Cuban cultural legacy in a predominant place on the world's scene.

With the title "Alicia Dances Here Tonight" the exhibition shows Alonso's influence on fine arts, as well as different sides of her legend and work as a dancer, her life and personality.

The exhibition, reverence to her myth, will be open to the public until June 12.
