Spanish singer Miguel Bosé described this Monday the US economic, financial, and commercial blockade against Cuba as “torture”, during the presentation of “Cardio”, his latest album.

According to Prensa Latina news agency, Bosé said that although the government of Barack Obama denies using torture, the almost-50-year-old-policy to the Caribbean island classifies as such punishment.

At a crowded press conference, Bose referred, among other things, the success of the concert Peace Without Borders, held in Havana last September, led by Colombian rocker Juanes and of which he was one the main promoters.

Recalling the concert at the Revolution Square in Havana, the Spanish singer said it had generated many threats, referring to intimidation from a minority of the Cuban community in Miami.

These events are recorded in “Jurame” (Swear to me), one of the themes of Cardio, gestated weeks before the September 20, 2009 and that he confessed, is a portrait of the loyalty in which Juanes and himself found the strength to resist those pressures.
