"Sencillamente Korda", documentary on Alberto Korda, author of the photo that immortalized Argentine guerrilla Ernesto Che Guevara, will premiere in Havana next March, informed its author, Roberto Chile.

"It will be premiered at the Revolution Square on March 12, in remembrance of the 50 years of the photo of Commander Guevara taken by Korda", known as the most widely reproduced image in the history of photography, Chile told AFP.

The premiere of "Sencillamente Korda", which had its world premiere in November at the Ibero American Summit in Estoril, Portugal, is part of the "Alas con puntas" project, which Chile undertook along with ten Cuban artists, according to Granma daily.

"I do not resign myself to premiere the documentary at a hall (...), and at the same time there are nine works that are not photos by Korda", but paintings from the snapshots", explained Chile, author of more than one hundred news reports, most of
them linked to the political, social and cultural life of the island.

Alberto Korda (1928-2001) was a chronicler of the Cuban Revolution until late 60s and on March 5, 1960, took the picture that immortalized the face of Che, in his black beret with the star of Commander and long hair.

In the documentary, based on an unpublished interview with Korda made by Roberto Chile six months before he died (in May 2001), the photographer tells how he met the guerrilla icon and the leader of the Revolution Fidel Castro.
