Cuban company EGREM (Music Recording and Editing Enterprise) opened a new venue for the marketing of Cuban music, with the launching of virtual store that offers users through www.egremtodomusica.com direction, reported the company’s managers.

Just one click away, the site offers the discography published by the label in its 45 years of existence, and it is accessible from internet, or through shops EGREM has made available all over the country, publishes this Wednesday Juventud Rebelde daily.

The initiative was tested in the Art Fair in La Rampa, the Plaza America shopping center in the Varadero resort, and the Dos Abuelos Center, in the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba.

With prices that have a cap of 0.99 U.S. cents and 2.00 Cuban pesos (the last one for children's music, rock and trova) for each music theme, the label offers its followers a wide spectrum of Cuban musical history, supported on a bilingual platform (English and Spanish).

For the time being, those entering the site until 25 February, will be able to download their favorite music for free downloads.

Although domestic scholars predict that the virtual stores will pose a challenge to sales of CDs and other forms of promotion, EGREM is confident on the benefits of this project which enables users to customize their own musical selection.
