Yumari Gonzalez, two-time World Champion in cycling scratch, will be the only Cuban representative at the fourth and last stage of the World Track Cycling Cup in Beijing, China, from January 22 to 24.

Yumari, a lady who shared the award to the best Cuban female athlete in 2009 with triple jumper Yargelis Savigne, will seek more medals for her great list of achievements, just as she did in the first and third stages of the competition, in
Manchester, UK, and Cali, Colombia.

In Manchester, Yumari won the silver medal in the race by points, but in Colombia, she finished fourth when she almost had the bronze medal in her hands.

Sources of the Cuban Federation told Cuban News Agency that Yumari, second in the race by points with 17 and only surpassed by World Champion Giorgia Bronzini (Italy), will go to Beijing on January 18 with his coach Leonel Alvarez.

This competition adds points for the World Championship in Denmark from January 24 to 28, where Yumari will defend her title.
