At the entrance of UPEC’s headquarters at Vedado neighbourhood was inaugurated an exhibition of 50 journalistic images portraying outstanding events taking place in Cuba for the last fifty years.

Barbara Doval, UPEC’s vice-president, thanked “the enthusiasts of image and the rescue of the memoirs that proposed and carried out this idea as well as to the people who trusted in that it could be done…”

“Thanks to all those involved in this perfectible work, like Inda, our photographer or the drivers, and very especially to the Pablo Editorial House.”

She explained that with this initial attempt we are paying back debts we had contracted with the Cuban photojournalism.

She clarified, on the other hand, why the authors of the photos had not been identified. “We prefer –she said – to encourage the themes, because even just one moment has been seen through several lenses in harmony, hence our first homage will be collective work.”
