Among the Cuban biopharmaceutical products registered by the Registration Office of the Dominican Public Health Department was HEBERPROT-P, prescribed in cases of diabetic foot.
Other medicaments in the group are a vaccine against hepatitis B, Alfa Interferon of 3 and 5 million units, Filgastrin, used for the treatment of certain types of cancer and AIDS, and Eritroproyetine of 200 and 400, mainly used in chronic kidney insufficiency.
HEBERPROT-P is one of the most important achievements of the Cuban pharmaceutical industry. This new medicament is highly efficient in the treatment of burns and other skin lesions, Prensa Latina new agency reported.
The product can be applied in deep ulcers that are resistant to conventional treatment in diabetics and it is the only one of its type registered in the world.
