A postage stamp with the image of Fidel Castro in the United Nations’ headquarters was issued today to mark the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In the Ministry’s building, Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, minister of Informatics and
Communications, made the official cancellation of the stamp accompanied by
Cuban Foreign Affairs Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla.

They also presented the “Envelope of the First Day,” which shows images of Fidel and Raul Roa García, known as the “the Chancellor of Dignity,” two paradigmatic figures of the Revolution’s foreign policy.

The design of the postage stamp was made by artist Jose Antonio Medina. It shows the leader of the Cuban Revolution addressing the UN General Assembly. The stamp will be sold as of today in all of the stores of the Informatics and Communications ministry for the value of 1.05 Cuban pesos.
