The Cuban collaboration with Vietnam in the construction field through the VIC joint venture was acknowledged in Hanoi in a meeting where the company received the third grade Order of Work.

The decoration, granted by the president of the country, was bestowed on the joint venture on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the company by Cuban and Vietnamese experts, Prensa Latina reported.

The meeting also marked the 51st anniversary of the Cuban Revolution. It was attended by government and state leaders from the two countries, among them Vietnam’s Parliament vice president Nguyen Hoang Khiem, minister of construction Nguyen Hoang Khiem.

A delegation of the Cuban construction ministry headed by its deputy minister Risbel Rosquete and the Cuban ambassador to Vietnam Fredesman Turro took part of the meeting.

Hoang Khiem said the Caribbean island and his country maintained special relations and he wished Fidel Castro and President Raul Castro health.

Turro talked briefly about the history of the Cuban Revolution and agreed with the Vietnamese Parliament’s vice president in stating that the two countries have a special relationship based on years of struggle then relations between the two nations should be an example for other countries.
