Yumari Gonzalez and Lisandra Guerra won silver and a bronze medal, respectively, on Friday during the second day of competitions of the third stage of the Track Cycling World Cup that is underway in Cali, Colombia.
 
Yumari, two-time world champion in the scratch and world silver medallist in the point race event, finished second in the latter with 17 units, only behind world champion Giorgia Bronzini, from Italy, who accumulated 24 points. The third spot was
for Russian Evgeniya Romanyuta (15).
 
Yumari already has two medals as she won a bronze last Thursday in the opening day of the contest in women’s scratch.
 
Meanwhile, also on Friday, Lisandra Guerra placed third in the women’s 500-meter event clocking 34.479 seconds.

The competition was dominated by world champion and world record holder Simona Krupeckaite (33.786) from Lithuania, and Dutch Willy Kanis (33.852). Guerra also has two medals as she won another bronze last Thursday in the sprint event.
