The Cuban jazz musician Jesús Chucho Valdes said on Friday that he is very pleased with his Grammy 2010 nomination for the album "Juntos para siempre", which he qualified as historical.

  "I feel that I have matured as musician, it is a familiar phonogram, the only I have recorded with my father", told the pianist to Prensa Latina, who also won a gramophone statuette in Grammy Latinos with the same album last month.

They are songs played with my father at home, recorded in a disc now, he added.

The singer Omara Portuondo, also nominated in the category of Best Contemporary Tropical Album with her album "Gracias", told to Prensa Latina that she is " delighted and happy with the news, I  ve only just found out ".

  I fell so happy when I received the Grammy Latino this year, if it happens again, Cuban people will get the victory as it always does.

  Both figures participated in the opening of the 31st Havana Film Festival in Karl Marx theatre, where play pieces like "Veinte años", "Besame Mucho" and "Dos gardenias".
