The work agenda of the second working day of the Latin American and Caribbean Workshop SIDACULT includes training to journalists in the development of good practices in the preparation of news about HIV/AIDS and some debate tables.

  Some of the issues of today's session are: prevention, response to HIV, projects with groups of men that have sex with men, violence against women, and presentation of research papers.

Experts of the United Nations acknowledged the work carried out by Cuba in the prevention and struggle against HIV/AIDS, the initiatives, strategies and programs that are developed to reduce the impact of the disease, when the workshop was
inaugurated Wednesday.

Representative of UNAIDS for Cuba and Dominican Republic Ana Maria Navarro highlighted that the island represents an example of the region due to the low prevalence of the infection it holds.

On the other hand, Representative of the UN in Cuba Roberto Galvez mentioned the work carried out by Cuban governmental and health authorities since the beginning of the epidemic in the 80s.

Director of the regional office of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Herman Van Hoof talked about the importance of the Workshop that will session here until today, Friday and the attendance of specialists,
officials, researchers, journalists and communicators.
