Other guests from Cuba and beyond are expected to be confirmed over the next few weeks helping to make Cuba50 at the Barbican the biggest European celebration in this 50th anniversary year.

As well as attending the celebrations Aleida will meet MPs and trade unionists at a special Cuba50 reception. She will also attend events, seminars and meetings during her ten day visit to the UK hosted by the Cuba Solidarity Campaign.

Aleida last visited the UK in 2004 when she was CSC´s guest at the European Social Forum (ESF) in London. On this visit she attracted enormous crowds wherever she spoke and addressed the final ESF rally in Trafalgar Square. There was unprecedented UK media interest in her visit with major feature articles in many national papers.
